Meeting Notes

Funding request for evening student graduation events
· Beth (3rd Evening MBA student) requesting to have funds to a evening party/reception for Evening MBAs after winter quarter b/c many evening students graduate early.
· Action items:
Todd talked about a proposal along with Maryleen and Beth to put on an end of the year event for Evening MBA students for all classes.
Executive MBAA council will make a decision by next week

Joint undergrad & MBAA staff/faculty appreciation week in February
· They are asking cool things in fundraising activities and events
· They are planning a faculty/staff appreciation week. It comes in two parts
a. Valentine card to faculty and staff
b. Staff award in the business school
Jonathan asked for suggestions, comments, etc.
Amy and Tareyn thought MBAA could expand staff appreciation party and possibly role this piece into after LEAD week celebration with staff.
Dan P. shared his thoughts of what undergraduate interactions with MBA students. These interests revolves around mentorship, advice, insights into industry and work experience from MBA students.

Action items:
· Jonathan will f/u with Tohan again
· We will not participate in staff award with undergrads
· How much sponsorship to do a joint event about valentine/appreciation cards

Evening student VP positions proposal
· Todd and Maryleen (evening MBA class reps) have developed a proposal to create VP positions that will be part of the MBAA Council to represent the evening MBA students. The leadership positions would help provide leadership and organization for the evening students. It would also help the transition between evening class representatives, serving as a mentorship role. In addition, these positions enable the evening class to play more vital participation and decision making role in the direction, activities, and how MBAA money is spent.
Action items:
· Maryleen will send out the proposal and position description to MBAA Council
· Gabrielle will create a catalyst survey and send out for council vote

MBAA elections
· Jonathan briefed everyone about MBAA elections coming up. There will be two slots where candidates will be make their statements.

International student networking event
· Group discussed how best to promote this event.
· Luke gave the council an update on the event. He has contacted recent graduates. Chelsea and Cortilla are working on calling Taiwanese students as well other calling other recent international MBA alumni.
· Luke is hoping to have 30-36 alumni for this event
· Dan P. mentioned that recent successful alumni events have been held off campus instead of on-campus events. Those events had great turnout.

Transition documentation Jonathan has created wikis and folders on the MBAA council on the WetPaint website. Recently, there is a limit on the number of documents loaded per wiki folder. However, since we are an education organization, MBAA might be able to load more docs than the required.
