Meeting Notes:

Dan Poston:

· Evening and Full Time are equal sizes this year, and in coming years evening classes will be bigger than Full Time
· Wants to develop a task force to re-evaluate leadership, with the consideration for the shift to larger evening student program
o Namely in cost, shared leadership, lounge responsibilities e.t.c
· Adopting Student Leadership Initiative - to put more structure around MBAA and leadership opportunities
o Wants a list of all leadership opportunities and all other roles/positions available to go out to 2009 and Evening Students
o Seasonal vs. Year long involvement opportunities
o Estimated Hours per Week
o Contact Person
o Wants all clubs to have a staff and faculty liaison (i.e. Elizabeth Sterns for Net Impact)
o Career oriented clubs should have a BCC person
o Reward structure - potentially a banquet (way to say thanks)
· Develop process that people can rely on that clubs run a certain way, historical tracking (year on year), resource base (i.e. paper book completed by the clubs and one copy turned into the MBA Programs office and one retained in the clubs, tracks speakers, types of events, e.t.c)

MBAA Council Members Updates:

· Steffenie Birkeland: VP of External Student Affairs
o Volunteers for lead week and graduation
o Term parties - Nov. 17 for fall party
· Sarah Breen: VP of Program Development
o Been working with Luke Lee - VP of International Student Affairs on a buddy system with international students - so far 70 participates
o Working with Tim Houssin to develop blogs to keeps students updated and to reach out to persepectives
· Chris Polluck: VP of Alumni Affairs
o Planning graduation party
o Class gift planning - not usually a big deal, trying to raise the bar for class gift
o Class agent for alumni relations
· Tareyn Gillilan: VP Internal Students
o Organize and plan TG's
o Implemented summer TG's
o Issues: more expensive this year ($150 more on alcohol)
o Infiltration of others - some undergrads at last TG's - Potentially getting tighter on invite list
· Amy Hughes: VP of Academic Affairs
o Liaison between students and faculty
o Organizes professor awards (PACCAR, professor or the term, e.t.c)
o Meets with first year reps
o Faculty meetings every week
· Luke Lee: VP of International Student Affairs
o Buddy system- working closely with Sarah Breen and Cortilia (GBA pres) getting international students involved
o Also, now working with GMBA's
o Plans regular gathering for buddy check in
o Alumni Dinner event, w. international graduates who have obtained employment in the U.S.
· Kyle Polanski: VP of Community and Business Relations
o Trying to improve upon last years efforts
o Bringing back golf tourney in the spring
o Handling business inquires - general external affairs for business com.
· Gabrielle Neupert: MBAA Exec. Secretary
o First year elections
o MBAA and Club elections in Winter quarter
o Organize club events calendar with Exec. VP and Club Presidents

· Liza Turley / Kien Ha (in China): MBAA Exec. VP of MBAA
o Just had first all clubs meetings - everyone showed up for SAO
o MBAA retreat planning
o Clubs coordination
· Jonathon Shaw: MBAA Exec. President
