"The Arbitrage" MBAA Newsletter - August 2007
To: MBAA members (FT class of 2008)
From: MBAA Executive Team
This month's Topics:
Hope everyone is working and enjoying your summer. This is our initial kick-off newsletter to you from the MBAA executive team. We want to keep you abreast of all the activities, discussions, and events occurring within the MBAA council, MBA clubs, and the greater UW MBA community. We believe this bimonthly newsletter is a valuable communication tool to be connected with each other and engage in dialogue and participation.
Volunteers for Lead Week. You received an email from Steffenie last week about volunteering for LEAD week. This is a great opportunity to help welcome the 1st year class into the UW MBA community. Give a little time in September to be involved. Please email Steffenie if you're interested.
Extending the UW MBA Brand Here are some tips to stand out from other MBA from other top schools
Send UW Thank You cards to your manager, executive speakers at your company, or folks you have networked during your summer internship. Pick up MBA Gear from the current inventory of Pint Glasses, T-shirts, and caps. Arrangements can be made for pick-up and payment. Just email Kien before Aug 31st.
New MBA Gear Kien has been working with a vendor to order some new UW MBA gear - Water Bottles, Pint Glasses, and Business Card Holders. He has ordered some water bottles that are in the same style as found at Starbucks. In addition, the new pint glasses will be etched with the UW MBA logo. Lastly, business card holders will be a nice touch to compliment to your business cards. Kevin Thomas is continuing to work on ordering fleece and vest jackets. Stay tuned for announcements when these will arrive. We will most likely be selling them at the first TG in September during LEAD week. Limited quantity on hand.
C4C Here are some ways to get involved this summer before school starts
Volunteer - see emails from John S.
Procure Auction Items from your summer internship and personal connections.
Procure Corporate Sponsorship from your company this summer. Please email Kien or Matt Markl for further instructions
That's all for now. Comments always welcome.
