MBA Lounge Printer Installation InstructionsThis is a featured page

A new Canon Image Runner 2270 printer was installed in the lounge. In order to print to this new printer from your laptop you must install a new driver. You can find the drivers at http://depts.washington.edu/dawgprnt/download/. Windows users will need to download and run the MBA_LOUNGE_for_W2K.exe file. Mac users will need to download and run the MBA_LOUNGE.dmg file. Either file will install the correct drivers to use the printer as well as install Pharos software. The Pharos software is required to print to the new printer.

When you print a document from your laptop a prompt will appear asking you for your name and a description of the print job. After you enter this information you will need to go to the printer in the MBA Lounge, swipe your Husky Card to login, select the PRINT button in the upper left corner, and select your print job. You will not be charged for your prints until you release your print job.

You can add value to your Husky card at http://hfs.washington.edu/husky_card or visit the Husky Card Office located in Odegaard, Husky Card station in the HUB, Allen North Lobby, or Odegaard First Floor.

Frequently Asked Questions:
If an error message appears when attempting to send jobs that states "Cannot connect to host BORIS/NATASHA on port 28203" you will need to update your hosts file. Please run the executable located at http://depts.washington.edu/dawgprnt/download/DawgPrintsHosts.exe to update your hosts file. Firefox users right click and save link as.

If your workstation/computer is behind a firewall, or you are experiencing difficulty using the printer software, download the batch script at http://www.washington.edu/admin/pubserv/copy/uniprint/FirewallPortsNeedToBeOpened.zip to open the necessary ports.

For Mac users open ports 28203, and 515 under the /System Preferences/Sharing/ pane.

Because of security concerns Dawg Prints is not able to accept print jobs coming from non UW IPs. Please connect through a UW IP to send your jobs.
