Touch 1st Round Interview Questions
Jan 25 2008, 7:52 PM EST Hey MBAs, Here are the questions I was asked in Touch's 1st round interview: Why consulting? Why Touch? Why should we hire you? If I tossed a coin and gave you $1 if it was heads, and you gave $.90 to me if it was tails, would you take the risk (aka: play the game)? If I picked a number between 1-100 and gave you the chance to earn money off me for guessing the number correctly in the first 5 tries, would you do it? Would you play this game if after those 5 tries you had to pay me money? How would you make the decision between Touch Consulting and a big name firm? 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Touch 1st Round Interview Questions
Jan 27 2008, 12:47 PM EST Lauren, Sounds like you did a good job. Congrats. It was great to see the list of talented people applying for Touch. My Touch interview was very informal. I had a few informal interviews with Touch and conversations with Todd so he didn't launch into consulting, Touch's culture or why this is a fit. This is a great interviewer strategy because it is disarming and can tone down the interview. Many companies do this at some point to see how interviewees respond. For instance, how strongly do you feel about this company/opportunity, can you stay on message, are you focused? For me, that is a tougher type of interview since there isn't this set structure of behavior questions, case questions, why are you a good fit, etc... Within a more traditional interview, it is easier to sell yourself and show your enthusiasm. In this case, I fell back on the 5 main points I wanted to highlight and started with my background before reiterating why I was a great fit. To expand on Lauren's thread, here are some questions and thoughts you should have ready for any consulting interview: 1) Why consulting? a. Why specifically are you good at? b. What are you passionate about? Providing great service, the “consulting” game? Etc... c. For me, Consulting is about solving business problems, providing great service and developing relationships. Show how you have done these in your past 2) Why Touch? a. What are the specific types of people they hire? b. What is their business model? c. What talents do they hire for? 3) Why should we hire you? a. I like to break this down into Personality, Experience and Professional. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
