Nordstrom Finance Interviews
Feb 7 2008, 12:13 AM EST This interview was formatted as two 30 minute interviews with two different people. In my case, there was a VP of Finance, and someone from the Strategy side. Both asked pretty similar questions. The questions that stick out are: "If you are the CEO of Nordstrom, what are your three top priorities over the next year?" "What part of the finance department do you see yourself working in, and why?" "Lets say there is a department with declining profit margins. How would you go about analyzing the underlying cause of the declining profit margins?" "Suppose you are given the choice between two locations in the same city for a new Nordstrom location. What information will you need to make the decision?" The interviewers were very nice, but expected great answers, so be prepared to answer a wide variety of questions ranging from your past experience to Nordstrom's future. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Nordstrom Finance Interviews
Feb 8 2008, 1:22 PM EST I was also asked about the financial leverage of the company and why they just issued more debt. Also, "our private label line is thinking about making a new line of dress shirt, how would you go about pricing them." Lots of situational questions. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
